Reality TV in the Philippines

It's the end of the first work week of 2012.

A lot of things have happened this past week as we prepare for the year. As expected, the announcement of the big shows for the network are being announced all week long via online, print and on television.

The network will be launching six reality shows for the year.

The most-anticipated is Extreme Makeover Home Edition which will be hosted by Tessa Prieto-Valdez, Divine Lee, and Paolo Bediones. This one has been more than a year in development and production. It was announced way back December 2010 and finally, it's coming to your television this year.

The next big reality show is really big and it's called the Biggest Game Show in the World Asia. It will be hosted by Joey De Leon and Richard Gomez.

Third would be Dancing Nation which is based on a South American show. The show hopes to uplift Filipinos and the various communities involved.

The network will also go into creating an original Filipino talent reality search called Kanta Pilipinas. No host has been mentioned.

One controversial reality show will be Temptation Island, which is based on a hit Regal movie. It's biggest selling point is that it is a movie transformed into reality tv format.

And the one everyone wants to probably join because you go around the world is Amazing Race Philippines.
