Charlotte, North Carolina  – There was a sense of excitement to see Caleb Martin back in Charlotte. It was the first time back for him to where he started his NBA career. Fans were more excited to see Caleb besides his twin brother Cody albeit on different sides of the court.

“It's weird like took a little minute to get adjusted to it but it was it was good.”

“We got a win so I'm good, I'm good. It was fun just being right back. A lot of good memories just how I started here. Yeah, just getting to be with my brother again that's always fun.

But, obviously getting a win and be able to brag about us to most important thing to me,” Caleb said in the post-game interview after the Heat thrashed the home team, 104-86 Saturday night (Sunday morning, Manila).

Besides the win, Caleb got a steal of his brother late in the first quarter.

“He was mad I got a steal. He was mad. He was like, ‘hey bro you got me a turnover.’ Sorry, I got my first two points.”

It’s the first year for Caleb Martin (right) to be playing
away from his twin brother Cody Martin (left)

Both brothers arrived at Charlotte, with Cody being picked in the second round of the 2019 Draft and Caleb joining him as an undrafted player. The two had played together as well in college.

Caleb was released by the Hornets prior to the start of the current season. He eventually found a home in the top-ranked team in the East and has found a role with the team.

Admittedly, it wasn’t an easy at first for Caleb.

“It was an adjustment like the probably first month or two. But I think we we've grown to get adjusted pretty quick. I think a lot it just has to do with the with the locker rooms and stuff that were in the guys that were that we see every day they you know along with the staff

“They've been such an important role for us to transition into living and playing without each other that it's it's made it a lot easier than expected. So there's a lot of credit those guys man they they really care about mind off of it obviously for the first two months and then the rest was pretty easy.”

He attributes a lot to the teachings that he got from his All-Star teammates like Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

“Obviously but the basketball part playing with him is easy,” referring to Butler.  “I mean he’s a playmaker. He wants to get everybody involved and get looks. His willingness just to get everybody going, just the selflessness that they want they want everybody to play well and make it easier on them.”

He adds, “You know Jimmy is just a clown. So, it's not even really just about on the court so he just he's nonstop joking. It's a good vibe that's it's like that with most the guys on the team so it's always it's always good being around those guys.”#
