Paul has more than decade of professional photography and writing experience.
He began his career in 2005 at Newsbreak magazine (now under Rappler.com) working as a photo contributor. He also did freelance work for Summit Media, writing and shooting for Candy, Seventeen, Kid Zone, Cosmo.ph, Hi! and Yes! magazines.
He eventually found his niche with the entertainment website Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.PH) covering lifestyle events, interviewing celebrities and getting the juiciest showbiz news.
In 2011, he made his way to broadcasting world working under the Corporate PR group of TV5. He helped establish and handled the publicity of Sports5, the sports division of the television network. The network's other long-running entertainment shows were also assigned to him.
It also allowed him to to be one of the network's in-house photographer shooting entertainment programs and sports events like the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association), United Football League (UFL), Guam-based PXC (Pacific X-Treme Combat), FIBA Asia 2013 and other major events in the country.
Upon his arrival in the US in 2015, he did the stills and publicity photography for G It's Entertainment, an independent film company based in South Carolina. Some of his photos were featured by Marvista Entertainment and the movies were featured in UP!, Hallmark and Lifestyle channel.
He began covering the NBA in 2016 and currently covers the league for Rappler.com, which includes coverages of the NBA All Star Weekend, NBA Summer League. He recently added another feather to his cap as producer for the 2023 NBA Finals coverage for Philippine broadcast giant Cignal (TV) and TV5.
Paul is a Journalism graduate from the University of the Philippines and obtained his MBA from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. He works a day job selling sportswear and winter products.
